ID # PP0209D017 | Hae Jung Cho My name is Hae Jung Cho (Stella) and I am from Korea. I enrolled the Personal Support Worker in Canada. I wanted to try it to know whether it was good for me or not. I had the practical in the dementia unit in a Nursing Home. There are a lot of things that human being cannot understand. At the ER, I enjoyed it because I could learn a lot of treatments such as suture assisting, checking BP, pulse and respiration, dressing, plaster cast and I could meet all kind of patients such as drunk, broken nose, leg and finger, pumping blood, mental problem, suicide, babies, the worst case was hemorrhage and CPR for the dead. |
Then I worked at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Here, I had to lift the patients with one colleague (rarely with two) for about 40 times every duty (8-9 hrs) with the care of excretion. Half of patients had the brain surgery. When the patients said hello and thanked for caring to them (shaving, oral care, etc.) after they went to the normal ward, I felt good, I tried to make them comfortable. If I can have a chance, I want to try this job in a different environment. I know there will be good and bad as everything should have. I'm sure all my experience not only above but also others along with my life will be very helpful to whom needs my hands. | | NAME | Hae Jung Cho (Stella) | AGE
