Liliya Korchynska

My name is Liliya. I work as a medical nurse in the children's hospital. I was born in a small town, which I love very much. I finished a secondary school in 1991 and then I started my studying in a medical college. In 1993 I graduated from the medical college with distinction, getting the qualification of a medical nurse.

Then I worked as a nurse in a medical post where I had a lots of duties: making and preparation of dressing for bandaging, taking patient's temperature, blood pressure and pulse, applying compresses, giving medicine, execution of doctor's prescriptions, keeping of medical documentation, giving injections, control of personal hygiene of patients, giving first aid in critical situation and after injury.

I've been discharged from the work because of liquidation of the medical post in 2004. From December 2004 I was working by contract as a senior care assistant in nursing and residential home in England. There were about 50 residents in the home. After two and a half years of work in England I came back home.
Then, I've been working as a district medical nurse in the children's hospital from July 2007. Also I've taken a correspondence course in psychology and sociology at our local university. I had some courses in medical massage, first aid, food hygiene, moving and handling training.

I'd like to get a new experience in my life and my profession, to see new country, to get to know new culture, to meet new people. I hope I'll be lucky to visit Canada and to find new friends here.
